Stratford Rising is a significant five-year cultural programme offering people in Stratford, regionally, nationally and internationally a distinct, dynamic and innovative programme, which signals Stratford’s emerging status as the key cultural, social and economic metropolis of the east.
Stratford Rising aims to create a unique cultural profile for Stratford, through a series of iconic events celebrating and telling the story of the area at a time of huge change.
Stratford Rising brokers new partnerships between Stratford Cultural Forum members, as well as arts organisations regionally, nationally and internationally and with local and regional agencies, funding bodies, trusts and foundations, and business sponsors.
Stratford Cultural Forum (SCF) is a network of Stratford based organisations with an interest in the arts; including arts-related programming, education, training and development. Members range from direct providers such as Theatre Royal Stratford East, Stratford Circus and Discover to education institutions, such as University of East London and Birkbeck College and other arts agencies such as East London Dance and Urban Development.
SCF collaborate closely with Stratford Renaissance Partnership (SRP), www.stratford-renaissance.co.uk is a public private partnership representing the major stakeholders in Stratford’s regeneration. Both organisations are intent on ensuring Stratford develops as a key cultural destination in the build up to and beyond the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2012.

Feasibility & scoping report re: Create to Celebrate. The aim of Create to Celebrate is to support the build up to the 2012 Games by investing in partnerships between events and artists across the UK to ensure that audiences have access to work of the highest quality, that communities have the opportunity to work closely with artists to develop relevant, site specific work on a larger scale, and to assist the development of a new generation of practitioners.
